Benefits of Observation
Have you ever considered nursing, but you’re afraid of one-on-one patient care? As a nurse in training, I was reassured by the knowledge and confidence I gained from pure observation of other nurses. Eventually your patients will rely solely on you, so my advice for your clinical rotations is to observe your coworkers during everything that they do. You need to watch even the most mundane tasks so that you will be prepared when it is your turn to provide the treatment. Read more about the ins and outs of nursing clinicals in the following article: All About Nursing Clinicals.
Before you can begin your nursing clinicals you’ll need to get into nursing school. With the ongoing nursing shortage, you might find it shocking that nursing schools are actually being forced to reject thousands of qualified applicants! Unfortunately, the nursing shortage is, in part, the result of a lack of instructors to teach clinical material. Therefore, in order to gain acceptance into a program, you must stand out above all other candidates. My best advice is to skip the waiting lists at community colleges and enroll in a private school. You may think private schools cost more, but the time and money saved from avoiding waiting lists at community colleges could yield a faster graduation date and professional nurse’s highly competitive earnings. Here are some tips on Applying to Nursing School.
Good Luck on Your Search,
