Advice for the New Semester

iStock_000005118452XSmallLet’s face it, there is no easy way around the challenges of nursing school. While some courses offer you the chance to showcase your knowledge in more creative ways, nursing is generally a detailed major that follows exact guidelines. You cannot fake your way through giving a shot, and you cannot guess which prescriptions might work for a certain illness. When it comes to nursing classes, you need to be fully prepared!

My advice is to avoid falling behind and putting off lessons. You are going to have to memorize the information eventually if you want to be successful in your healthcare career. Why not start from day one of the semester preparing for your exams? You’ll be less stressed as the semester goes on if you avoid letting your work pile up.

This semester I am taking on a challenging course load. The classes I am taking are: Pathophysiology, Human Nutrition, Nursing Fundamentals, and Concepts of Professional Nursing. I have finally reached the core nursing classes that seemed so far away two short years ago. This semester we make our first appearance in clinical, and direct patient interaction begins!

I cannot wait to fill you in on the concepts that we cover in our curriculum this upcoming semester. Although challenges lie ahead this upcoming semester, I am excited to continue my journey through nursing school, and give you advice on how you too can succeed as a nurse!

Best of Luck,

T- Foley
